TRAVEL VLOG #9

One of the grandest waterfalls in the Philippines is the majestic Maria Cristina Falls. It is situated within the premises of National Power Corporation Nature’s Park and is one of the main landmarks in Iligan (Wikipedia Article) City, popularly known as the “City of Majestic Waterfalls”. It is the second highest waterfall in the Philippines with a height.

of 98 meter and spews 130 cubic meter of water per second. This majestic waterfall is referred to as the ‘twin falls’, because of a big rock at the edge of the waterfall that separates the flow of water, originating from the Agus River.

Situated at the base of the Maria Cristina is the Agus VI Hydroelectric Plant operated by the National Power Corporation. The hydroelectricity generated from the falls is the primary source of power in the entire province and other parts of Northern Mindanao, thus dubbing the falls the “Mother of Industry” and “Fountainhead of Progress”.
